Bad Boy Reed, born Kehinde Taoreed Baruwa in Lagos, shared during an interview that his music is inspired by real-life struggles in love and life. Growing up in Ojo, surrounded by musically-influential friends, he discovered his passion for music and decided to pursue it full-time. Reed has a unique talent for creating catchy hooks and incorporating a smooth, charismatic vibe while staying true to himself.
Reed comes from a musical family background that has helped shape the Afrobeats genre. It's no surprise that he is incredibly talented. Despite growing up in a place of poverty and corrupt government, Reed's father instilled greatness and discipline in him. Music became a way of life for him and allowed him to express himself in ways he couldn't before. His music reflects the struggles and joys of everyday life in Lagos, with a focus on love and the daily struggles faced by Lagosians. Although he has received recognition from many well-known artists, BB is more focused on creating great music that resonates with his fans.
In 2023, Bad Boy Reed released his next single, "Attention," which gave listeners a glimpse into his love life. He had taken some time off to focus on refining his sound and message.
